The Doc Lausch New Toy is a direct translation of the original board within the Surf Prescriptions line up by shaper  Jeff “Doc” Lausch.
 
The design of this board and its wider tail allow it to plain early and at low speed. While the New Toy excels in small wind chop and mushy conditions, the double bump round tail keeps the board loose and still able to handle decent size surf.
 
The magic of this board comes from its speed in the wave. Expect to make three moves where you used to get one. The 5’9" is good for a bigger rider whose normal surfboard is a 6’0”-6’4”, the 5’5" is ideal for a smaller rider who normally rides a short board 5’9”-6’0”.
